Armstrong Academic Research Center

A brick building labeled Student Success Center with large glass windows, surrounded by leafy trees and bathed in warm sunlight.

This project consisted of renovation to the existing building and an addition to the natatorium. The purpose was to convert it into an academic resource center. The scope included partial demolition of exterior masonry walls, removal of an existing Olympic swimming pool, placement of new concrete fill and slabs, structural steel, aluminum and masonry exterior walls, conventional interior framing with steel studs, drywall and acoustical ceilings.

C. Merrill Construction installed new mechanical systems including fire sprinklers, alarm, telecommunications and associated integrated campus control systems. All work was completed in a timely and sensitive manner while the building was occupied and in use.
