Coastal Pines Technical College Welding Facility & Machine Shop

A spacious, well-lit workshop with multiple industrial lathes and milling machines arranged in rows on a polished concrete floor. The walls are light-colored, and large windows provide ample natural light.

C. Merrill Construction proudly completed the new welding facility and machine shop at Coastal Pines Technical College’s main campus in Kingsland, Georgia. Designed by architect Gene Maria of Hanson, this state-of-the-art building supports the college’s growing technical education programs. The building’s exterior combines classic brick masonry with storefront windows, offering a professional and welcoming appearance. In addition to the building itself, the project included essential site work such as asphalt paving and new sidewalks, enhancing accessibility and campus connectivity.

The construction features a structural steel frame, CMU exterior walls, and a lightweight concrete roof on a tectum deck, providing a durable and modern learning environment. The facility includes a large teaching and fabrication space, complemented by classrooms, restrooms, and office areas to support both students and faculty. This facility stands as a key asset to Coastal Pines Technical College, reinforcing its commitment to hands-on technical education and workforce development.
