Gnats Landing Renovation & Two-Story Patio Addition

C. Merrill Construction completed a design-build renovation and two-story patio addition to Gnats Landing, a well-known restaurant in the heart of Statesboro, Georgia. The project included the construction of a new structural steel and concrete patio addition, significantly expanding the restaurant’s seating and enhancing the overall customer experience. Working within a zero-lot-line site at a busy intersection, the team managed tight logistics, including crane operations and material deliveries, with heightened coordination and safety measures. The addition was carefully tied into the restaurant’s existing utility systems, ensuring seamless functionality.

Gnats Landing remained open and operational throughout the renovation, with construction scheduled during the summer months to minimize business disruption and ensure the new space was fully open in time for the return of the school season. The project is a strong example of C. Merrill Construction Construction’s ability to deliver complex additions and renovations in active, high-traffic environments. Despite the building’s condition, the team delivered the project on schedule, ensuring the franchise could open its doors promptly and begin serving customers without delay.
